Coach Leah Cepuran

I love working with children and I love hockey. As I'm on the ice with the children I make sure to have a positive attitude and do my best to motivate them to continue working hard. I hope to help provide positive experiences for the kids on the ice so that they continue to love coming to hockey practices and games.

Although Coach Cepuran is new to coaching, she has a lot of experience working with children. She has a degree in early childhood education and care and has worked with young children for more than 12 years.

She is currently completing the Foundations of Development and the USA Hockey 8 & Under over modules.

I developed a love for playing hockey as a child and I want to help promote that same feeling for children as they start out on their own hockey journey. 

I love that through coaching I am able to combine my love for hockey with what I do in my everyday life - working with children.

I believe that kids should have fun learning and playing hockey while also putting in the hard work. I believe adding in that mixture of fun through various games and on ice activities will help promote a love for hockey that I experienced as a child. Also, promoting unity and a strong team atmosphere is very important. My most memorable teams I was on as a child were the ones that had strong team unity.

I grew up in a hockey family - I have 6 siblings and we all played hockey at one point or another. I skated and played pond hockey with my family as a young child and then played on girls teams from 10U through 14U.

Last year I was looking for a place for my children to learn to skate and play hockey and I found the Kenosha Komets. I was eager to volunteer on the ice and help out with the Ignition/DEVOS. I have loved being back on the ice this past year, helping out, and learning best how to help coach.
