Spring Youth Hockey
The mission of our organization is to help youth of all ages and skill levels to develop as athletes, leaders, and members of the community. We emphasize excellence in teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship and character building. We distinguish ourselves by offering a hockey program that provides players with individual growth to reach their maximum potential both on and off the ice.

WISCONSIN AMATEUR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION (WAHA)
WAHA is the highly competitive state league for Wisconsin based teams. The Komets travel in Region 5 which encompasses most of Southeastern WI. Each team is classified by skill level as A, B & C. WAHA skates teams at all age brackets from 6U through 18U.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are new to the Kenosha Komets, your players will need to have their original birth certificate verified. You can bring that to tryouts and our staff can validate. It must be an original birth certificate with the raised seal and watermark; copies cannot be accepted. If you have already had your birth certificate verified with the Komets, you will not need to bring it again. You are good to go!
USA Hockey
All Komets players must be currently registered with USA Hockey before they will be able to register for Komets Spring Hockey. Each player must have their own, unique USA Hockey confirmation number and will need their current USA Hockey number to proceed with registration.
If you do not have a USA Hockey number, please first register with USA Hockey and return to registration to signup for our Spring Season.
Program Information
Season
The Spring season will run from April through May. The practice schedule is noted below by team level and will run for 8 weeks (approximately). Players are expected to participate in the one hour long practice for their team each week.
Eligibility
Players must have participated in a full-ice travel or house program for the 2025 - 2026 season OR participated in Komets Development Program and have received approval from our Komets Hockey Director, Bob Leitza.
6U-8U Cross Ice Hockey
6U cross-ice and 8U half-ice are “Grow the Game” programs meant to develop the skills of the players involved and grow their love of the game with as many puck touches as possible. Our teams provide opportunities for our younger players to learn the skills needed to develop into stronger players and will prepare them for competitive hockey at the 10U level ... and beyond!
This is not just a fun way to play—it’s the best way for young players to develop the skills they need to succeed at those higher levels. With more puck touches, faster decision-making, better player engagement, and a stronger focus on individual skills, cross-ice hockey gives our players the tools they need to thrive in the future while keeping them excited and involved in the game.
10U-18U Full Ice Hockey
Our 10U-18U travel teams are targeted towards those players looking to move beyond house-league and for more competitive hockey and progressive skill development.
The Komets follow the American Development Model (ADM) to provide your players with age-appropriate, age-specific skills development and training and ensure they have a solid foundation for their best hockey experience.
